　　Gorgeous,talentedandcharismaticblondeactressBarbaraCramptonwasbornonDecember27,1958inLevittown,LongIsland,NewYorkandraisedinVermont.Becauseherfatherwasacarnie,Barbaraspentherchildhoodsummerstravelingthecountrywiththecarnival.Cramptonfirstbeganactinginschoolplaysin7thgradeandstudiedactinginhighschool.SheearnedaBAinTheaterArtsfromCastletonStateCollege.Followinggraduation,Cramptonportrayed"Cordelia"inanAmericanTheaterofActorsproductionof"KingLear"inNewYork.BarbarathenmovedtoLosAngelesandmadeherTVdebutwitharecurringroleonthepopulardaytimesoapoperaDaysofOurLives(1965).Shehadabrief,butmemorableroleasCraigWasson'sunfaithfulgirlfriend,"Carol",inBrianDePalma'sBodyDouble(1984)andwasfunnyasthebubble-headed"Chrissie"inthecrudelyamusingcomedy,FraternityVacation(1985).Barbaraachievedhergreatestenduringcultpopularityassweetcollegecoed"MeganHalsey"inStuartGordon'sterrificRe-Animator(1985).Shegaveanexcellentperformanceastheambitious,butprimandrepressed"Dr.KatherineMcMichaels"intheequallyfineFromBeyond(1986).Cramptonwasquiteengagingastheperky"SuzieLynn"inthefunChoppingMall(1986)andtypicallysolidastheunhappy"SusanReilly"inCastleFreak(1995).BarbarahadrecurringrolesonthedaytimetelevisionsoapoperasTheGuidingLight(1952),TheYoungandtheRestless(1973)(CramptonwonaSoapOperaDigestAwardforheractingonthisshow)andTheBoldandtheBeautiful(1987).AmongtheTVshowsCramptonhasdoneguestspotsonareTheNanny(1993),PacificBlue(1996),PartyofFive(1994),Hotel(1983)andSantaBarbara(1984).Herhobbiesincludeskiing,yoga,horsebackriding,running,workingoutwithweightsandshoppingforantiquesatfleamarkets.BarbaraCramptonlivesrightoutsideofSanFranciscowithherhusband,RobertBleckman,andtheirtwochildren.
