Frits, around fifty years of age, considers himself a photojournalist. He has a fascination for ambulances and fire trucks. He listens in on the radio to trace scenes of crime, fires and car accidents and races to the sites to photograph his uniformed heroes. Frits’s neighbour kid Johan is the only person with whom he can share his fascination: it is a lot more fun for the boy than sitting at home. But when nine-year old Johan gets a smartphone, he quickly starts to lose interest in Frits. Now the latter will have to become a hero himself, and show the world what he’s truly made of.
