Krãsis

Thus, the aria can express its full potential, unsettling and transforming. At first, the observer witnesses four isolated individuals on the edge of reason, caught in a moment of rare intensity. Then, coming closer, the quartet reveals itself. What appeared as separate images and distinct emotions starts to form a balanced system. The audience experiences the humanist theory of affects that baroque composers used to influence body and soul through music: the harmony of opposites, or krãsis.
