主人公Kunjunni的大学时代里，共产主义是时尚的信仰。喀拉拉成为印度第一个民主选举产生共产党的城市。在新力量作用下，家庭的土地公有化。多年以后，他仍然相信共产主义将会解决所有的社会问题。而他的同志们也督促他革命化，他变得疏离政党政治，并加入一个毛派组织。当警察局和地主被攻击时，他成为嫌疑犯被逮捕，他的生活面临着又一次重要转折....... 　　Kunjunni is the man of the story. Entering college， communism is fashionable and he takes it up naturally. Kerala becomes the first cit y to democratically elect a communist party. Under new power， the family land is given away. Years later， he runs a printing press， still believing communism will cure all social ills. While his comrades prod him to be more revolutionary， Kunjunni gets disenchanted by party politics and joins a Maoist faction. When police stations and landlords are attacked， he becomes suspect and is arrested， marking another critical departure in his life.
