改编自波兰女作家Pola Gojawiczynska的同名女性小说，由女导演Barbara Sass执导，讲述三女性的奋斗历史和生活经历。感觉这部要比它的另一部姐妹篇《The Girls of Nowolipki》（1986）更好看一点。两部影片的美版FACETS一区DVD都已出。4/5 　　Polish filmmaker Barbara Sass scored a significant international success with 1985's The Girls from Nowolipki. Set during the final days of World War 2, the film charted the fortunes of four impressionable teenaged girls. Sass immediately followed Nowolipki with a sequel, Apple Tree of Paradise. Girls no more, the four heroines emerge into womanhood with a more clear-eyed outlook on life. The director's recreation of postwar Warsaw is accurate to a fault, serving as a convincing backdrop for her absorbing storyline. 　　The sequal to "The Girls of Nowolipki" is set in Warsaw after the First World War, when Poland regained her independence. Again, the film follows the lives of three young heroines.
